The Sidama Development Association has provided chickens and other necessary inputs to enterprises engaged in poultry farming as part of its project. The association is widely engaged in community-focused activities, and this project is one of the many initiatives it is implementing to enhance the social and economic capacity of women. The association has distributed 900 chickens to each of the five enterprises it organized for 50 women in Tula Sub-City and Hawela Lida woreda. The association has been providing continuous training and preparatory support to the women engaged in layer poultry farming. Overall, inputs worth 5 million Birr have been distributed to the organized enterprises, including 5 poultry sheds, 3,750 chickens, 300 quintals of feed, feeders, drinking equipment, medicine, and other essential materials. Woinshet Mangesha the CEO SDA stated that the professional follow-up will be conducted, with experts assigned to oversee the process.

Medical equipment and supplies worth 3.5 million Birr have been delivered to health centers to enhance healthcare services. The Sidama Development Association, in collaboration with a non-governmental organization called JSI, has provided support in the form of medical equipment and supplies worth 3.5 million Birr to five districts where the IPHCSD and SSD projects are being implemented. These districts include Dale, Alata Wendo, Bensa, Wondogenet, and Boricha. The delivered equipment and supplies include: - 3 ultrasound machines (for maternal healthcare services), - 32 tablets, and - 32 internet Wi-Fi devices. The ultrasound machines will be used for maternal healthcare services, while the tablets and Wi-Fi devices will help modernize medical services, facilitate digitalization processes, and enable online training and support for healthcare providers. This initiative aims to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve access to quality medical services in the targeted districts.

Sidama Development Association Launches Student Feeding Program at Chefe Koti Jabessa Primary School in Tula Sub-City, Hawassa The Sidama Development Association has initiated a student feeding program at Chefe Koti Jabessa Primary Schoolin Tula Sub-City, Hawassa. During the launch event, W/ro Weynshet Mengesha, the association’s chief executive officer, delivered a speech highlighting that this school is the fourth to benefit from the program. She noted that the association had previously launched similar feeding programs in three other schools in Tula Sub-City, gaining valuable experience in the process. Invited guests and community representatives also expressed their appreciation for the association’s efforts, pledging to support the program. They commended the Sidama Development Association for its ongoing commitment to education and expressed hope that the feeding program would expand to more schools where students still lack access to such benefits. The initiative aims to improve student attendance, concentration, and overall academic performance by providing nutritious meals, ensuring children can focus on their education without the burden of hunger. This program reflects the association’s broader mission to enhance education and community welfare in the Sidama region.

Sidama Development Association Launches Modern Honey Production Project in Collaboration with Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) The Sidama Development Association, in partnership with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), has launched a modern honey production initiative in the Wondogenet District, Wosha Soyama Kebele. As part of this project, the association has: - Organized beekeeping cooperatives and provided capacity-building training to members. - Supplied modern beehives, honey extractors, filtering and packaging machines, filling equipment, and honey storage materials (including branding tools). - Ensured all pre-production preparations are completed, enabling the cooperatives to begin high-quality honey production in a modernized and efficient manner. This initiative aims to enhance local honey production, improve product quality, and create sustainable income opportunities for beekeepers in the Sidama region. The project marks another step in the Sidama Development Association’s commitment to economic empowerment and agricultural innovation, supported by TIKA’s expertise in development cooperation. Production has officially begun, with honey now being harvested and processed using advanced techniques to meet market standards.

የሲዳማ ልማት ማህበር ዛሬ ባደረገው ጠቅላላ ጉባኤ ላይ አዲስ ቦርድ አባላትን ጨምሮ የተለያዩ መተዳደሪያ ደንቦችን አጽድቀዋል። የሲዳማ ልማት ማህበር ጠቅላላ ጉባኤ አዲስ ቦርድ ሰብሳብ እና አባላትን ሰይሟል በዚሁ መሠረት የቦርዱ ዋና ሰብሳቢ ዶ/ር አያኖ ባራሶ ምክትል ሰብሳቢ ወ/ሮ ሐገረፅዮን አበበ እና አምስት አባላትን የመረጡ ሲሆን በዚህ መሰረት:- 1.ቄስ ኢያሱ ጣጊቾ 2.አቶ ተሰማ ሕርባዬ 3. ዶ/ር ሰላማዊት መንገሻ 4.አቶ ብሩ ወልደ 5.አቶ ማቶ ማሩን የቦርድ አባላት እንዲሆኑ ጠቅላላ ጉባኤው ወስኗል። በሌላ በኩል አዲስ የተቋቋመው ቦርድ ወ/ሮ ወይንሸት መንገሻን የሲዳማ ልማት ማህበር ዋና ስራ አስፈፃሚ አድርጎ የመረጠ ሲሆን የአዲሱ የመስሪያ ቤቱ ሎጎ እና ለሪፎርም የሚያግዙ ረቂቅ መተዳደሪያ ደንብ ውይይት በማድረግ በጉባኤው ፀድቋል።
